Head shots for business

Almost everyone needs a good head shot these days.  Whether it's for business cards, resumes, websites or profile pics for a multitude of social media accounts - we all need a good picture of our lovely face to show others who we are.

When Sandra came to me for head shots, she wanted something that would be different and unique.  Something that would catch your eye and make her business profile stand out.  I think she nailed it - and looked amazing to top it off!!

Family portrait session - Orlando, Florida

Fall in Florida is still very warm.  While other parts of the country may be hugging pumpkin spice lattes and wearing boots and scarfs; we are often still wearing flip flops and running our A/C.  Thankfully, when I met this family for a photo session, it was breezy and a bit cooler.  When they showed up wearing some beautifully coordinated fall colors, I knew their pictures would be vibrant.  When they were all willing to climb a tree for a family photo - I knew I'd hit the jackpot!  What a great evening together with Mike and Michelle and their two boys.

Happy Fall from Florida!!

Family portrait session - Satellite Beach, FL

This summer has been full, and it seems to be a common feeling from most everyone I talk to.  Our summer days always appear to go by too fast and are gone before we know it.  No doubt,  these days are filled with traveling, along with family and friends visiting from out of town.  When you have extended family come to town, it's always a great idea to capture those times together on camera. I met with this family the day before their parents/grandparents were due to fly back home. We wanted to get some great family shots before they had to say goodbye.

And some of my favorites  . . .  :)

Be sure to take the time to capture some memories on camera while everyone is together.  It's always worthwhile!!

Photo booth - Winter Park

One of the services I offer through my photography business is a photo booth for events.  It's a really fun addition to involve your guests/clients and give them something to remember the occasion.  I provide the props, backdrop and lighting - and the guests bring the laughter and unique style :)  Afterwards, I'll send you a link to a private gallery that you can share with your guests.  They can download the images, share them with others and even purchase prints from the link.

Here's a few images from an event earlier this month.

And I'll try and pull everyone in to join the fun!  These guys below were the servers that night from Sonny's BBQ.  They were fantastic, and I couldn't end the evening without including them.

Add a little pizzazz and fun to your next event!  Give me a call and reserve the photo booth for some added laughs and memories!!

Cousin portrait session - Melbourne

There is something special about cousins.  Whether you live near each other or not, you share a family connection.  You may spend holidays together off and on while growing up.  You may spend a lot of time together or just the occasional gathering.  Either way, the relationships between cousins are unique and often times very special.

I had the opportunity to spend an afternoon with four great teenagers who, also, just happened to be cousins!

The two oldest ones were about to start college and the two youngest ones were about to start high school.  What an exciting time for each of them!

We had a great time with different combinations of all four cousins, sibling pictures and individual shots of each of them.

You probably can't tell from these photos, but it was incredibly hot that afternoon.  So, in between posing and smiling, they would run back to their cars and sit in the air conditioning. Their moms had the rotations and clothing changes down to quite an art :)

But, most importantly, they had a fun time and it shows in their pictures.  That's what I love to capture!!

I love it when your natural joy and beauty shines through!

Prom portraits - Orlando

Prom season has come and mostly gone from our area here in Florida.  I had the privilege of sharing the beginning of a special evening with a fantastic couple before they headed off to a night of dancing and celebrating.

We found a beautiful park in Orlando.  It was fairly quiet with large oak trees, winding pathways and a stunning white bridge.  A perfect backdrop to compliment her gorgeous red gown and his sharp suit.

These two were totally at ease around each other and it was easy to just capture them enjoying one another's company.

If you're comfortable with a camera around you - it really makes for some great images.  If you need some time to warm up to the idea, I completely understand and will do my best to make you feel less intimidated.  I want you to walk away after our photo session together with not only great images to enjoy and share with others, but also with great memories of a fun pocket of time in your life.

The individual captures on prom night are nice to have as well!

I love to capture genuine smiles and laughter.  These two made it so easy for me!

These are just a handful of the many images I was able to capture that late afternoon with this fun couple.  We also did more photos at her house around the piano.  Before I sign off from this post, I need to share just one more of my favorites.  With the highly polished black car sitting under the shade of the oak trees . . . it was just begging for a classy photo :)

Give me a call!  Let's have some fun together!!

Family portrait session - Rossetter House, Melbourne

I was recently invited to join an adorable two year old and her parents at a beautiful venue right here in my own town.  We met at the historic Rossetter House for a portrait session.  The Rossetter House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The well maintained gardens and sprawling front porch are the perfect backdrops for a lovely photo session.

You can even bring along a fluffy teddy bear to join you if you'd like!

There is also a lovely white gazebo tucked away in a corner.  This is the perfect spot to try out your dance moves.

After exploring the north lawn and front porch, we moved the celebration to the south lawn and set up a tea party.  The teddy bear guest was very accommodating and patiently waited for tea to be served.

Turning two can be exhausting!

Thankfully the gardens at the Rossetter House provided the perfect peaceful setting for a quick catnap.

If you're in the area, I would highly recommend you check out this historic gem in Melbourne, Florida.  And if you're interested in a portrait session at this location, be sure and give me a call!

Senior portrait session - Orlando

When Kathy and her daughter, Gabby, contacted me and asked to schedule a senior session, I knew there would be lots of laughter involved.  When Kathy texted me a few days later and asked if we could take the pictures at a wildlife refuge - I knew that we'd add adventure to the mix as well!

The day before the session it rained and rained and rained, but the next morning the sun was shining and the weather was absolutely perfect.

Gabby had actually created two beautiful wreaths to wear on her head for some of the pictures.

While we didn't encounter any wildlife to speak of, we did see some amazing Florida nature.  The trees were draped with Spanish moss and added an elegant backdrop.

The wildlife refuge proved to be a lovely, quiet area that offered multiple options for us.  Add to that some different outfits, a very patient mother and lots of laughter!

Thanks for an evening to remember, Gabby!  Cheers to your senior year!!

Family portrait session - Lake Eola, Orlando

I had the honor of doing a photo session for an extended family right after Christmas.  It included a mother and father with their three children and their children's children.  It was four different family units which, altogether, included eight adults and eight children.  So we had one adult for each child - pretty good coverage I'd say! :)

After taking some pictures of the entire group, we were able to capture some photos of individual families and different combinations within those families.

Here's a favorite of mine.  All eight of the grandchildren with their amazing grandparents.  What a joy for them to have all of these kids together.  This was a time when I wished I had a second shooter to capture the antics of the children's parents behind me as they tried to make all of their kids smile for the picture.

And sometimes you need to just let kids (and grandparents!) let loose and have fun!!

Afterwards, because the kids had done such an awesome job with all the posing and smiling, they were rewarded with a trip to the nearby playground.  I, of course, followed them in hopes of capturing some fun action shots.

I tend to really favor the images that I capture at the end of the session.  I think it's because everyone has relaxed and their true smiles and emotions shine through.

What a great way to end a beautiful morning with a very delightful family! :)

Senior portrait session - Rollins College

About a week ago I was able to spend my Friday afternoon with some really fun people at a beautiful location.  If you've never been to Rollins College in Winter Park, I'd encourage you to go for a visit.  The architecture is incredible and the grounds are just immaculate.  Combine that with a slightly overcast day and a stunning model - perfection!! :)

Emily is truly beautiful inside and out.  Her genuine care for others and quick smile are contagious.  There are some Sundays that I have the privilege of hearing her sing with our worship band at church.  What a gift to all those who hear her.

She brought her mom and her little sister with her, as well as their adorable little, white dog that never grew tired from exploring the campus grounds.  And even posed for a few shots as well!

When we were almost done, we managed to capture a few shots of Emily with her sister.  Watching the two of them interact and laugh together  just made my day.  I have a special place in my heart for the bond between sisters - and a special love reserved for my own sister as well.

Best wishes for a wonderful senior year, Emily!!  What an honor to share these moments with you.

Captured with your eyes

My parents came to visit a few weeks back.  It may be their last opportunity to come see us in our home as traveling is difficult for them now.  I had every intention of having my camera out the whole time and even dreamed of doing a small portrait session with them.  But that never happened.  Sure, I took some pictures of them with my boys and my youngest even swapped places with me so I would be in a few.  But many of the captured moments never happened with my camera.  It was only in my mind.  My youngest son once told me that some of the events in our life should only be enjoyed with your eyes - without the camera in front of them.  This was one of those times.  I wanted to be fully present during their time here and look at them with my eyes, not my camera lens.
