Senior portraits - Winter Park, FL

You know when someone introduces you to a great location and you can't wait to share it with someone else?!  That's how it was when Emily introduced me to Hannibal Square in Winter Park, FL. We had such a good time there during her senior session, I couldn't wait to head back there again.  So when Kloe and her mom, Crystal, asked me for recommendations for photo locations in that area - I couldn't resist including Hannibal Square.  I was so thrilled when that's the spot they chose!  I knew it would be quiet, beautiful and picturesque for Kloe's senior shoot.

It truly did not disappoint!  Kloe was a natural in front of the camera.  Her stunning beauty and easy going spirit made our time together so much fun!!

Here are a few of my favorites :)

It's only a few short months before Kloe is off on a new adventure at USF.  I'm so excited for her and what her future holds.

Congratulations, Kloe! And best wishes to the class of 2018!!

Senior portraits - Melbourne Beach, FL

It's been too quiet on here lately.  But don't mistake that for a quiet time of year.  There's a lot going on over here and I'd love to include you in the fun! :)

Let me catch you up a bit by sharing some highlights from a recent senior portrait session.  Melbourne Beach is a quaint nearby town nestled in between the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River.  That means the option of having a portrait session start on the beach and wind up at the river in time for a sunset is a very doable idea.  And that's exactly what we did with Caroline!

I love that she included her dog as well!

And then the sun set on our photo session!

It was such a fun time together!  These are the sessions that make my heart beat fast.  I hope you can scheduled a time with me soon.  I'd love to connect with you :)

Couples portraits - Turkey Creek Sanctuary

I've been photographing these two since they went to prom together back in 2016.  Last year we did more of an urban feel to their photo session.  This year they were looking for more of a forest-like feel with lots of trees.  Not a problem!  So many options right here in our own area.  We headed out towards Turkey Creek Sanctuary in search of a beautifully wooded area.  Success!

Here are a few of my favorites from that evening.

Don't wait for a milestone to schedule a photo session.

Every day is a gift that's worth savoring.  Let me capture yours :)

Family portraits

Taking pictures of your own family is difficult.  Trust me, I understand :)  I'm a professional photographer and it's hard for me to take the time to get professional shots of my own sons. When they are all together, I usually want to just enjoy their company and not organize a photo session.  I'm guessing you feel the same way.  But time marches on and you need to remember these days.  It won't necessarily get easier to capture these moments, but it will always be worth it!

I listened to my own advice recently and made the time to take my sons out for a photo shoot. They live in three different locations, so having them together is rare.  I needed to take advantage of that reunion!

I love the combination of candids and posed.  Their true personalities are shining through!

You've probably got family reunions coming up yourself.  Or just special times with family or friends that you see regularly.  I'd love to capture those moments for you so you can relive those special times together.  Don't let another season pass you by.  Drop me a note or give me a call.  I'd love to hear from you :)

Location, location, location!

Shortly after a new client contacts me, the question inevitably comes up as to where I would recommend we do a photo session.  Where would be a good location for us to do the shoot?  I get it!  It's usually the next big decision after you make the choice to book a photo session.  And quite honestly, there are so many options!  I actually have a list that I keep of different locations based on the style.  Are you interested in the beach style, or near the river?

How about wide open fields or a worn and abandoned look?

No matter what feel you're looking for, I'm excited about finding the perfect location for you and making it memorable and fun!!  Are you looking for something specific that I haven't even mentioned here?  Leave a comment and let me know.  We can work together and make it happen!

Family portrait session - Satellite Beach, FL

This summer has been full, and it seems to be a common feeling from most everyone I talk to.  Our summer days always appear to go by too fast and are gone before we know it.  No doubt,  these days are filled with traveling, along with family and friends visiting from out of town.  When you have extended family come to town, it's always a great idea to capture those times together on camera. I met with this family the day before their parents/grandparents were due to fly back home. We wanted to get some great family shots before they had to say goodbye.

And some of my favorites  . . .  :)

Be sure to take the time to capture some memories on camera while everyone is together.  It's always worthwhile!!

Family portrait session - near Cocoa, FL

I've known this family for years.  So when their oldest daughter contacted me and said she and her brother wanted to gift a photo session to their mom for Mother's Day, I was very excited!!

We chose a beautiful park just west of Cocoa.  The storm clouds were rolling in and we pretty much had the entire park to ourselves.  When the rain did hit, we easily dashed under a covered pavilion and waited it out.  The sun was back and shining within a few minutes.

I loved their energy and enthusiasm throughout our whole time together.  It made for some very fun photos!

I had such a great time with this family!

Give me a call when you're ready to schedule a fun portrait session.  It will be so worth it!! :)

Family portrait session - Cocoa Beach, Florida

The weather recently has been hit or miss as far as rain.  When I scheduled a portrait session with this family we knew we had a 50/50 chance of getting rained out.  Nevertheless, we continued to move forward and plan the time together.  Even within an hour of our meeting time, it was still raining off and on and we weren't sure it was going to happen.  By the time we connected it had slowed down to a drizzle and we ventured to the beach for a delightfully cooler evening - and no rain :)

As you can see, this family is incredibly photogenic.  I so enjoyed our time together!  And their dog . . . so cool!!

Don't let the possibility of rain stop you from scheduling a portrait session.  We'll make the most of our time together.

And it just might wear the dog out too! ;)

Senior portrait session - Melbourne Beach

One of my very favorite types of photo sessions are senior portrait sessions.  I love that special age when you're in your final year of high school and getting ready to head off to college or wherever the next chapter in your life will lead.  There are so many possibilities and opportunities in front of you.  Even as many moms are reluctant to see this season arrive, you can just feel the energy and excitement in the seniors as they get ready to advance to the next step.  I've been there as a mom, so I can understand the struggle.  But I just love the enthusiasm that's evident in the heart of the seniors.

The morning of this photo shoot was a bit on the cold side, but Hannah was up for the chill and looked absolutely stunning.

I'm so excited for what's ahead for you, Hannah!  UCF will be a better place with you as a student!  Best wishes to you and the years ahead!!

Family portrait session - Melbourne Beach

The weather here in Florida has been quite near perfect lately.  The humidity is low, the temps are mid to high 70's, the ocean is a beautiful blue, and the skies are mostly clear and sunny.  Every February I think to myself, "I wish it could just stay like this all year long".

It was on one of those perfect evenings recently that I met a wonderful family down at the beach to capture some memories in the sand by the ocean.  Their daughter was turning three!  What a magical age :)

There is just so much to explore and discover at the beach!  It's the perfect setting for portraits and candid photos.

You can't help but smile when the sand is between your toes!!

Individual portrait session - Melbourne

It's been too quiet here.  I've had a lot going on - but I'm excited about what is in store for 2017!  And I'm hoping to have you join me in the adventure!!

I truly love connecting with people and finding out what makes them laugh and smile.  When we get together for a photo session, I want it to be fun for you and a memorable experience.

When I spent the evening with this beautiful girl, it was such a joy to see her come to life in front of the camera and really start to have a good time with it all.  She had some great ideas and we wound up chasing the light until it was gone.

Individual portraits don't have to be just for seniors in high school.  Anyone who wants to capture to some beautiful moments and memories is the perfect subject!

Family sunrise portrait session - Cocoa Beach

I love the beach!  You would think that living so close to the sand and ocean would mean that I'm there all the time.  Unfortunately, after living here for twelve years now, I have to pretty much schedule a beach date or it doesn't happen.

Taking pictures at the beach can be good and bad.  The sun can add the perfect lighting - depending on the time of day.  The sand can wreak havoc on my camera equipment if I'm not careful.  The wind may or may not be an issue and you often have to just go to the beach to test it out.  All this to say - I'm more than happy to meet you at the beach for a portrait session, and if the elements there aren't working for us, we can always move the session elsewhere!

Thankfully, when I met this family at the beach recently, it turned out to be the perfect setting.

The weather couldn't be better and the beach was relatively quiet.  And these two boys were such good sports about the whole thing!  They were up and out of their warm beds before the sun was even close to rising.

I was so impressed with how happy and compliant they were the entire time!

We had plenty of time to get individual portraits as well as some beautiful family portraits.

And we couldn't resist rolling up the pants and doing some splashing through the water!!

It was such a perfect morning with an amazing family!

I'd love to schedule a beach session with you as well :)  Give me a call and let's pick a date!

It's always worth it to get your toes a little sandy!!
